We collect what we need to make and deliver your print, and nothing for advertising. Analytics only runs if you allow it, there are no advertising pixels, and we never sell data.
Who we are
Logbook Press, an independent online print studio, is responsible for your information. Questions or requests go to asklogbookpress@gmail.com or the contact page.
What we collect and why
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, shipping address | To make, ship and tell you about your order | Contract |
| What goes on your print: names, times, dates, places, your route, your photo | To print it | Contract |
| Payment confirmation from the payment provider (transaction ID, payer name and email, amount) | To match payment to order, handle refunds, keep accounts | Contract, legal obligation |
| A design you save or share: the details you typed, the inks and layout, and your route or traced circuit if you added one | So the link brings the design back, for you or whoever you send it to | Your request |
| Your name, email and design, if you ask to hear when ordering opens | To tell you when you can order it | Consent |
| Contact and commission messages | To answer you | Legitimate interest |
| How you use the site (pages viewed, device, rough location), only if you allow analytics | To see which prints people look at and fix what gets in the way | Consent |
| Your email, if you sign up for the newsletter or tick the box at checkout | To send occasional emails about new designs | Consent, withdrawn any time with the unsubscribe link in every email |
Designing happens in your browser. Photos and pictures of circuit maps you add are processed on your device and only reach us as part of the finished artwork when you order. When you upload a route (GPX, FIT or TCX), the file stays on your device too, but a few things go to our server to finish the design: the area it covers, to fetch the street map; and its start and finish points with the start time, to look up the place names and that day's weather. The whole route only reaches us if you save the design, or as part of the artwork when you order.
We never see your card details. Payment happens on the payment provider's own checkout page.
Who we share it with
- Lemon Squeezy, our reseller for digital files and their merchant of record, takes the payment for them and handles sales tax: it receives your name, email, billing country and payment details. Lemon Squeezy privacy policy.
- Our card payment provider for prints, shown at checkout, takes payment for prints and receives your name, email, shipping address and payment details, under its own privacy policy.
- Gelato, our print partner, receives your artwork, name, shipping address and email to print and deliver your order. Gelato privacy policy.
- Brevo sends our order, shipping and newsletter emails and holds the newsletter list. Emails sent through Brevo may record whether they were opened or a link was clicked. Brevo privacy policy.
- Google Analytics, only if you allow it, measures how the site is used. Google privacy policy.
- Netlify hosts this site, runs our checkout server, stores print files and receives contact form messages. Netlify privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap services. When you look up a golf course, airfield or circuit, or upload a route, our server fetches the map data: place searches from OpenStreetMap's Nominatim, map tiles from OpenFreeMap, and golf holes from OpenStreetMap's Overpass servers (with a mirror run by VK as a fallback). They receive the search or the map area, but never your IP address, name or order details.
- Open-Meteo provides the weather on the day of your route. Our server sends it the start point and date, and nothing else. Open-Meteo privacy.
Some of these providers are in the United States or elsewhere outside your country. Where the law requires it, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
Analytics cookies, only with your permission. If you choose Allow Analytics, we use Google Analytics to see which pages and prints people look at
and how many visits end in an order. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… that last up to two years, and Google receives your device
and browser details and an approximate location; Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses. We keep analytics data for two months. Until you choose, nothing loads.
Change your mind any time with ; choosing No Thanks removes the cookies.
Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage, so we don't have to ask on every visit. There are no advertising cookies.
When you reach the payment step, the payment provider's checkout (Lemon Squeezy's for digital files, our card payment provider's for prints) loads and sets its own cookies. These are strictly necessary to take payment securely and prevent fraud, and they're governed by that provider's own policy. If you never open the payment step, they set nothing.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
- Print files: with the order record, so we can reprint if anything goes wrong. Ask and we'll delete yours once it's delivered.
- Messages: up to 2 years after we last hear from you.
- Requests to hear when ordering opens: until we've told you, then deleted within 6 months.
- Saved designs: for as long as the link is useful to you. Tell us the link and we'll delete the design.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
How we keep it safe
The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Order records and print files are stored with our hosting provider and only we can open them; your card details never reach us at all. Download links for digital files carry a random key and only work once the order is paid.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or object to how we use it. Write to us and we'll answer within a month. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority. California residents: we don't sell or share personal information, and you have the same rights to know and delete.
Children
Ordering is for adults. If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to order for you.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
